H.Samuel has almost 400 stores nationwide and is part of the Signet Jewelers Ltd, the world's largest specialist jeweller. The H.Samuel story began in 1862 when Harriet Samuel took over her father-in-law's clock-making business in Liverpool. Harriet moved the business to Manchester's Market Street and ran the mail order side. Her son developed the retail area.
The first H.Samuel retail store opened in Preston in 1890, closely followed by branches in Rochdale and throughout Lancashire. To accommodate the growing business, the company moved to large headquarters in Birmingham in 1912.

  The Service in your Newcastle-under-Lyme store was brilliant, first class. All the staff are polite and pleasant, especially the young lady who served me this saturday named Katy, she was so helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble for her. The store is bright, clean and displays are very pleasing to the eye. I love the Newcastle store and shop there on a regular basis. The staff should all be commended for their fantastic service...

  bought some pink butterfly earrings for my daughter today at the Guildhall Shopping Centre in Exeter. Was greeted immediately and served by a friendly and professional lady (Genna i think). There was a male staff member who was also very friendly. A good, quick, quality shopping experiance, thanks..
