H.Samuel has almost 400 stores nationwide and is part of the Signet Jewelers Ltd, the world's largest specialist jeweller. The H.Samuel story began in 1862 when Harriet Samuel took over her father-in-law's clock-making business in Liverpool. Harriet moved the business to Manchester's Market Street and ran the mail order side. Her son developed the retail area.
The first H.Samuel retail store opened in Preston in 1890, closely followed by branches in Rochdale and throughout Lancashire. To accommodate the growing business, the company moved to large headquarters in Birmingham in 1912.

  Lovely shop to go into,plenty of choice to suit all pockets and make you wish you could spend in there every week at least!Lady assistant,very pleasant and the only thing that disappointed me was they had some really nice stemmed glasses for 18yrs and when I asked if they were for 21yrs as well,I was let down because the answer was no!..

  bought some pink butterfly earrings for my daughter today at the Guildhall Shopping Centre in Exeter. Was greeted immediately and served by a friendly and professional lady (Genna i think). There was a male staff member who was also very friendly. A good, quick, quality shopping experiance, thanks..
